Avery is a barber who takes pride in doing things the right way. For him, a haircut isn’t just about looking clean
it’s about how you feel when you leave the chair: confident, sharp, and ready. He works with focus and patience, paying attention to the small details that make a big difference, with no rushing and no cutting corners — just consistency and respect for the craft.
At Lookin’ Sharp in Tilburg, Avery has created more than just a barbershop. It’s a place where clients feel comfortable, understood, and confident every time they walk out the door.
FROM PASSION TO PROFFESION
I got into barbering in a pretty natural way—just by paying attention. I’d watch friends and family come home with haircuts that looked... off. Not terrible, but not as sharp or clean as they could’ve been. Faded lines weren’t blended right, edges looked rushed, and it always made me think, “Man, it could’ve been done better.”
That curiosity turned into action. I started watching my barber cut people’s hair while waiting three hours on my turn, learning techniques and experimenting with clippers at home. What began as fixing a few messed-up lines for my brothers turned into full haircuts and eventually blossomed into a real passion.
About six months into cutting my brothers’ hair, things started to grow. My brothers began bringing their friends, and what started as practice quickly became something bigger. With every new cut, I improved faster and gained confidence. That’s when I realized barbering wasn’t just a hobby, it was something I could truly succeed in.
There’s something powerful about taking your time with a cut, ensuring every detail is tight and every line is crisp. Seeing someone look in the mirror and feel like they just leveled up gives me immense satisfaction.
Barbering has allowed me to combine focus, creativity, and care into my work, and to this day, I see every cut as a reflection of pride; I never let someone walk out with anything less than their best look.
